BEVERLY, Mass. – For the second straight week, Endicott freshman inside linebacker William Rivera (Orangeburg, N.Y.) has been named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Defensive Rookie of the Week.
Rivera shined for the Gulls once again on Saturday against No. 15 nationally ranked Hobart College as the freshman inside linebacker compiled a career-high 13 tackles (nine solo, two TFL totaling 18 yards) and also added a sack in the 28-17 loss to the Statesmen.
Last week, Rivera led Endicott in tackles in his collegiate debut recording nine total (six solo, three assisted) in the Blue and Green's 42-6 loss to Framingham State University, the five-time defending Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) champion.
Endicott (0-2) travels to St. Lawrence next Saturday at 1 p.m. The Gulls will then visit Nichols on Saturday, September 26 at 12 p.m. before returning home for the first time in three weeks on Saturday, October 3 against MIT at 12 p.m. For the latest on Endicott Athletics, follow the Gulls on social media on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
