Rivera Lauded By NEFC For Third Straight Week

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the third straight week, Endicott freshman inside linebacker William Rivera (Orangeburg, N.Y.) has been named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Defensive Rookie of the Week.

Last Saturday against St. Lawrence University, Rivera compiled eight solo tackles and also picked off one pass to lead the Gulls' defensive effort in a 34-9 loss to the Saints.

Rivera has now led Endicott in tackles in all three games this season, along with earning NEFC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors the first three weeks of his career.

Rivera is currently first in the NEFC in solo tackles (22), third in total tackles (29), fourth in tackles per game (9.7) and interceptions (one), eighth in sacks (one) and sack yards (eighth), and 23rd in assisted tackles (seven).

Endicott (0-3) travels to Dudley, Mass. this Saturday to take on Nichols College in a New England Football Conference (NEFC) matchup at 12 p.m.
