Senior Dan Gomez (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was named the Gulls' Most Valuable Player as he put together a standout season behind the plate and at the dish. Gomez hit .336 with 10 doubles, two homeruns and a team-high 31 RBIs. Gomez also scored 30 times last season.

The Pitcher of the Year award was presented to Colin McGinn (Tolland, Conn.). McGinn compiled a record of 5-2, tossing 43.2 innings in nine appearances. McGinn struck out 31 batters and allowed just 21 earned runs en route to a 4.33 ERA.

The Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Year, Luis Uribe (Boston, Mass.), was also named the team's Rookie of the Year. Uribe's first year on campus was a memorable one, as he started all 40 games and hit a team-high .364. Uribe connected for 48 hits and six homeruns. His slugging percentage of .591 was also tops on the team.

The ACE award (Attitude, Concentration, and Effort) went to graduate student Erik Fields (Swampscott, Mass.). Often taking the ball in key situations, Fields logged a team-high 57 innings and finished the year with a 4.89 ERA.

Finally, the Coaches' Award was given to sophomore catcher Dan Greel (Rockport, Mass.). Greel, who served as the backup to senior Dan Gomez, appeared in eight games and hit .231 in his relief role. The sophomore will look to take over the full-time catching duties next spring.
