Game One Box Score - Game Two Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. - Salve Regina notched a pair of important TCCC wins on Saturday afternoon, as the Seahawks swept the Gulls in a conference double-header on North Field in Beverly, Massachusetts. Salve Regina captured game one, 8-1, and then held on to win game two, 8-5.

The wins improve the Seahawks to 20-14-1 overall and 10-7-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Endicott dips to 15-13 overall and 9-7 in TCCC play.

Salve was quick to open a 3-0 lead in game one as the Seahawks notched three first inning hits en route to the early advantage. Justin Collett (South Portland, Maine) connected on an RBI single to left field to plate the first runner of the day. Will Pearce (New Fairfield, Conn.) and Steven Tressler (Phoenix, Ariz.) would also add RBI hits in the inning to give the visitors the early lead.

Endicott's only offense of the opening game came in the bottom of the sixth as freshman Luis Uribe (Boston, Mass.) connected on his third homerun of the season, giving the Gulls their only run of the game. SRU's Adam Olerio (North Kingstown, R.I.) was solid on the hill, improving to 3-1 on the year with a complete game six-hit outing. The senior surrendered just the one earned run while striking out five in the victory.

The Seahawks' Matt Finlayson (Higganum, Conn.) hit 1-for-3 with two runs scored in game one. The designated hitter Will Pearce smacked two hits and drove in one, while Tressler finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

In game two, Salve Regina was able to hold off a late rally from the Gulls to grab the 8-5 win. Endicott scored four runs in the final two innings to make it a ballgame. The Seahawks were once again able to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first frame, an advantage they would never relinquish.

Senior catcher Robert Peruzzotti (Mystic, Conn.) had one hit and two RBIs in game two, while also scoring three times for the visitors. Tressler continued his strong day with a pair of hits and a pair of runs driven in. Freshman Craig Silva (Marlborough, Mass.) kept his perfect record alive as he pitched five and two thirds surrendering three runs and striking out five.

Endicott looks to rebound on Sunday afternoon as it stays in TCCC play with a twinbill against Anna Maria. Salve Regina hopes to keep to its winning ways with a double-header against Nichols on the same day.
