Game One Box Score - Game Two Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College improved its The Commonwealth Coast Conference record to a perfect 8-0, as the Gulls downed visiting Wentworth, 8-6 and 9-2, in a TCCC double-header on North Field in Beverly, Massachusetts. Aaron Santos (Cambridge, Mass.) hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the sixth to break a 6-6 tie in game one, and the Endicott offense laced 15 hits in the game two victory.

Dan Gomez (East Longmeadow, Mass.) poked an RBI single to left center in the bottom of the first, scoring Aaron Santos for the quick 1-0 lead. Wentworth rallied to score four times in the top of the third, as the Leopards put together a four-hit effort including a bases clearing triple from Mike Roberts (Chelmsford, Mass.) to score three, giving the visitors a 4-1 lead.

Trailing 5-1 entering the fourth, Endicott scored four times to even the score at 5-all. Dan Gomez led the frame off with a solo shot to left field, clearing the rock formation to begin the EC charge. Three-straight singles by Brian Andersen (Grafton, Mass.), Luis Uribe (Boston, Mass.) and Christopher Dominguez (Braintree, Mass.) tacked on two more runs for the Blue and Green. Adam Labbe (Litchfield, Maine) plated the final run of the inning as he poked a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Dominguez to even the game.

Wentworth got one back in the very next inning as Roberts racked a double over Aaron Santos' head in centerfield, followed by an RBI single from Nick Cunningham (Pembroke, Mass.) to return the lead to the visitors. Colin McGinn (Tolland, Conn.) settled down to induce three-straight groundouts to escape the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth Endicott retook the lead for good. Chris Dominguez scored to retie the game, charging his way home from third on a squeeze play. Two batters later, Aaron Santos drove a deep fly to right center, skipping the ball into the parking lot for a two run homerun and an 8-6 Endicott lead.

The advantage was all McGinn needed as he retired the Leopards in order to cap-off the come-from-behind win. McGinn improves to 3-1 on the year with the complete game victory.

In game two, the Endicott bats were alive as the Blue and Green connected for 15 hits in the, 9-2, win. The Gulls were quick to strike as they capitalized on two first inning errors to streak ahead 3-0 after one. In the bottom of the fourth the hosts added two more as Dan Gomez singled through the right side, scoring Adam Labbe and Aaron Santos for the 7-0 lead.

Wentworth responded by scoring its only two runs the contest in the top of the fifth. Phil Costello (Medford, Mass.) led the inning off with a patient walk, before advancing to second on a throwing error. Freshman Jake McManus (Hopkinton, N.H.) singled up the middle to load the bases. Pete Oggeri (Sandy Hook, Conn.) bounced a sharp liner to second, scoring Costello on the fielder's choice putout. After reloading the bases, Endicott brought in Nick Kelley (Malden, Mass.) who walked Mike Roberts (Chelmsford, Mass.), forcing in Oggeri home from third for Wentworth's second run.

That would be all the offense the Leopards would get, as the Gulls went on to win game two, 9-2. Adam Labbe hit 2-for-4 with three runs scored in the win. Dan Gomez laced three hits and drove in two, while also scoring three times for the Gulls. Brian Andersen had three hits and a team-high 4 RBIs. Alex Judge collected the win, improving to 3-1 overall.

Endicott (14-6, 8-0 TCCC) returns to action on Sunday as it plays host to TCCC foe Roger Williams for a conference double-header on North Field beginning at 12:00 p.m. Wentworth (18-9, 6-6 TCCC) retakes the diamond on Tuesday as the Leopards step out of conference play with Babson College at 3:30 p.m.
