Bryan Caruso 1999-2002

Bryan Caruso 1999-2002

Bryan was the first player from the Endicott baseball program to sign a professional contract. After graduating in the spring of 2002, Caruso signed a two-week contract with the Brockton Rox of the Independent Northeast League in Brockton, Massachusetts. The following season, he walked on at a tryout for the North Shore Spirit of the Independent Northeast League in Lynn, Massachusetts and made the club, the only walk-on to do so. He played the entire season in Lynn, serving as back-up catcher for former Major Leaguer, Frank Charles.

Bryan was part of the first Endicott team to make an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2000. Caruso also received many conference honors, including the 1999 GNAC Rookie of the Year award. Bryan also rattled off a New England record 33-game hitting streak in his freshman campaign, a streak that carried over into 2000 where it reached 38-straigh games, the 3rd-longest in Div. III at that time. Caruso was named an All-Conference member in 2000, 2001, and 2002; and also represented Endicott in the All-New England Collegiate All Star game at Fenway Park his senior year. Caruso had a career batting average of .388 with 23 homeruns.

Bryan is now the general manager of Concord Sports Center in Concord, NH, teaching the game he loves to a new group of baseball players.
