Game One Box Score - Game Two Box Score

MILTON, Mass. - Endicott College dropped its fourth-straight The Commonwealth Coast Conference game, as Curry College swept the Blue and Green, 4-2, and, 2-1, on Monday afternoon in Milton, Massachusetts.

Curry junior Ralph Renzulli (Rowley, Mass.) hit 2-for-3 in game one and drove in three of the Colonels' four runs in the 4-2 win. The host's Matt Hines (Duxbury, Mass.) improved to 5-0 on the hill, as the sophomore struck out seven batters in his complete game outing.

Endicott and Curry traded a pair of runs in the first inning, as Endicott struck first on a two RBI double by freshman Luis Uribe (Boston, Mass.) for the early 2-0 lead. Curry responded with a two RBI single from Renzulli to left field to even the game.

The Colonels scored a single run in both the third and fifth innings to take the 4-2 lead. In the third, it was Renzulli again who stroked an RBI double to center to score David Vincent (Grafton, Mass.). Curry tacked on an insurance run in the fifth as C.J. Haddad (Marshfield, Mass.) singled to left to score Brad Hawn (Chino Hills, Calif.) for the 4-2 final.

Game two of the twinbill was a pitchers duel, as the two teams combined for only seven hits. C.J. Haddad drove in both of Curry's runs in the 2-1 win, while Chris Judd (Peabody, Mass.) upped his record to 2-0 on the season with an impressive six innings on the hill.

The Gulls were once again quick out of the gate, striking first in frame number one. Mike Barbati (Melrose, Mass.) scored what proved to be the Gulls' only run of the game, as he crossed the plate on a double steal attempt. Senior catcher Dan Gomez (East Longmeadow, Mass.), who was at first after a single to right, was thrown out stealing second allowing Barbati to sneak home from third.

The 1-0 lead was as comfortable as the Gulls would get, as Curry evened the game in the home half of the second. C.J. Haddad poked an RBI single to right to score David Vincent to even the game at 1-all. Haddad was able to hit home the game winner just two innings later, as he drove a ball down the left field line that was deep enough for Vincent to score on the sac fly.

With a slight one run lead, Curry called upon Cory Moore (Lynn, Mass.) in the top of the seventh to close the game out. Moore was quick to retire the first two Endicott hitters he faced, however ran into trouble after a pinch hit walk to Erik Fields (Swampscott, Mass.). Andrew Betts (Bristol, Conn.) came on to run for Fields and immediately stole second to put the tying run in scoring position with two outs. Unfortunately for the Gulls, freshman Christopher Dominguez (Braintree, Mass.) was unable to drop in a hit, as he flew out to left field to end the game.

The loss sets the Gulls back to 14-10 overall and 8-4 in TCCC play. Endicott gets back to work on Wednesday as the Blue and Green travel to Springfield, Mass. to meet Western New England College for 1:00 p.m. tilt with the Golden Bears.
