Women’s Cross Country Places 7th At Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's cross country team placed seventh overall at the Suffolk Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.

Wellesley took home first place honors with 38 points, while Colby (56), Bowdoin (58), Wheaton (142), DeSales (151), Suffolk (228), Endicott (229), Plymouth State (251), UMass Dartmouth (257), and Husson (263) rounded out the top-10.

The remainder of the 16-team field included Gordon (263), Emerson (273), Babson (361), UMass Boston (397), Framingham State (416), and Clark (423).

Individually for the Gulls, Cassandra Cosma (Center Moriches, N.Y.) led the way in 37th place with a time of 26:04 on the challenging 6-kilometer course.

Endicott's top-5 also featured Michaela Kenney (Springfield, Mass.), Julia Adrian (Noank, Conn.), Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), and Ella Aldrich (Winchester, Mass.). Kenney ranked 40th overall (26:14), while Adrian, am Ende, and Aldrich came in 46th (26:26), 51st (26:42), and 55th (26:58), respectively. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The Gulls were narrowly beaten by conference foe Suffolk (228-229).
  • Endicott topped crosstown rival and conference opponent Gordon (229-263).
  • The Gulls had three runners inside the top-50 in a field of 170-plus runners.
  • Cosma has headlined Endicott in every race this season.
  • The gap between the Gulls' number one and five runners was only 54-seconds, which also ranked first among all programs on the day.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will compete in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday, October 30, hosted by Western New England in West Springfield, Mass.
