Petrucci Invited to NEWVA Senior Classic on December 7th

NEW LONDON, N.H.- Following a senior season in which she set multiple career high personal records, senior Jessica Petrucci (Cape Coral, Fla.) has been invited to compete in the 2013 NEWVA Senior Classic.  The Classic will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7th on the campus of UMass Boston.  

The yearly event includes the region's top seniors as they compete in various skills competitions which lead into the afternoon's all-star match.  Petrucci, a defensive specialist, set new career highs in sets played (119), digs (272), digs/set (2.29), service aces (42), service aces/set (0.35) and points (43.0).  Over her career, Petrucci recorded 60 aces and 493 digs as she averaged 1.93 digs/set.  Over here four year tenure, Endicott produced an overall record of 69-69 while going 24-8 in CCC play.  The team qualified for the CCC post season all four years, advancing to the CCC Finals twice, and the semifinals in the other two.  Endicott was also selected for the ECAC Tournament in three of the four years as the Gulls advanced to the ECAC DIII New England Championship this season and advanced to the semifinals in the two others.

The Gulls wrapped up their 2014 season with a 18-17 record overall, an appearance in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinal match and a trip to the ECAC finals.  2014 was highlighted by a win over Springfield at the MIT Invitational as well as a trip to California over Columbus Day weekend.  This is the fourth straight year the Gulls have seen a player receive an invitation to the NEWVA Senior Classic as Petrucci joins Callie Dolan (2013), Ashley Norley (2012), and Elyse Barbour and Sarah Allshouse (2011).
