BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's track and field student-athletes Abby Griffith (Franklin, Mass.) and Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) has earned Conference of New England (CNE) Field Rookie of the Week and Track Athlete of the Week accolades, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Risko bested a field of 55 other runners in the 1,500 meters with a New England qualifying time of 4:48.19 at the Snowflake Classic on Saturday. Risko broke the tape 2.59 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the event.
Also at the Snowflake Classic, Griffith won a jump-off in the high jump, clearing a New England qualifying, school record, and personal best height of 5 feet and 5.25 inches. It marked the second straight week Griffith broke the high jump school record, this time by two inches (5-0.25).
This is Risko's third career Track Athlete of the Week award (4/2/24 and 4/9/24) and the first career weekly award for Griffith.
