Risko, Novello Claim CCC Weekly Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's track and field student-athletes Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) and Olivia Novello (Ipswich, Mass.) have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the conference office earlier today.

Risko was named the CCC Track Athlete of the Week, while Novello garnered CCC Track Rookie of the Week accolades for their performances last Saturday at the Snowflake Classic.

Both honors are career firsts for the Gulls.


HANNAH RISKO, TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

  • Risko led the Gulls to their best team finish ever (seventh overall) at the Snowflake Classic on Saturday
  • The junior was one of three student-athletes to qualify for the NCAA Division III New England Championships on the day
  • Risko was second in the 1,500-meter run with a New England qualifying and school record time of 4:49.22. Risko bettered her previous record-holding time by 4:56 seconds
  • She also broke the school record in the 800-meter run via a time of 2:23.92, good enough for ninth place out of 44 competitors

OLIVIA NOVELLO, TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

  • Novello helped the Gulls to their best team finish ever (seventh overall) at the Snowflake Classic on Saturday
  • The freshman qualified for New England's in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.09 in the prelims
  • She followed that up with a fifth place performance in the finals with a time of 16.58
  • Novello also was a member of Endicott's fifth place 4x100-meter relay team (52.48)

Endicott competes at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational on Saturday, April 6 at Gordon College.
