ALL-CCC TEAM

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year accolades earlier today to highlight five other Gulls on the All-CCC Women's Tennis team.

Barnett was joined on the All-CCC team by freshmen Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine), Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.), and Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.), sophomore Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.), and junior Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.).

Barnett is now the fifth student-athlete in program history to earn CCC Player of the Year honors joining Amy Heacox (2014), Chrissy Martel (2013), Brittney Langley (2002), and Yuko Matsumoto (2000) on the illustrious list. Along with her CCC Player of the Year honors, Barnett was named to the All-CCC singles and doubles first team.

Barnett finished the 2015 regular season campaign with a 7-1 singles record (6-0 CCC, 6-1 at No. 1, 1-0 at No. 2) and a 9-0 mark in doubles action (7-0 CCC, 1-0 at No. 1, 8-0 at No. 2).

Andreasen picked up two All-CCC honors joining Barnett as an All-CCC first team doubles selection along with claiming All-CCC second team singles accolades. Andreasen posted a 7-3 record at singles (5-2 CCC, 2-2 at No. 1, 5-1 at No. 2) and a 10-1 record in doubles (8-0 CCC, 1-0 at No. 1, 9-1 at No. 2).

Bergstein and Rhodes were named to the All-CCC doubles first team, while Fitzgibbons and Freter earned All-CCC singles third team laurels to round out the list of honorees for Endicott.

As a No. 1 doubles pairing, Bergstein and Rhodes compiled a 7-4 overall record on the season, including a 5-2 showing in CCC matches. Fitzibbons registered a 7-3 singles record (6-1 CCC, 1-0 at No. 1, 2-2 at No. 2, 4-1 at No. 3),while Freter went 9-3 overall in singles matches on the year (6-2 CCC, 1-0 at No. 2, 2-0 at No. 3, 6-3 at No. 4).

In all four seasons under head coach Jeremy Howard, the Gulls have had at least six or more student-athletes named to the All-CCC squad and a minimum of four student-athletes named to the first team every season (2012-current).

Endicott (10-2, 8-0 CCC) will play the winner of No. 5 Western New England/No. 4 Nichols at home on Thursday, October 8 in the CCC Tournament semifinals at 2 p.m. The Gulls clinched the No. 1 seed in the CCC Tournament this season after posting its second straight undefeated regular season with an 8-0 record.
