Endicott Clinches Second Straight Undefeated CCC Reg. Season With Win Over Wentworth

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Wentworth, 6-0, to clinch its second straight undefeated season in CCC play, and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament on Saturday afternoon at the Bass River Tennis Club. Today's match was moved indoors from its original venue - Endicott's South Campus Courts - due to inclement weather.

Endicott only dropped three games in doubles as freshmen Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) and Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) posted an 8-0 decision at No. 2, while classmates Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.) and Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) turned in an identical decision at No. 3 to begin the match.

Sophomore Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.) and junior Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) followed with an 8-3 win in the No. 1 doubles slot to take a 3-0 advantage into singles.

Barnett then went on to make quick work of her opponent in the No. 1 singles position by a 6-1, 6-0 score, while Andreasen clinched the match at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. Freshmen Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.) proceeded to earn a 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 4 position before the match was called due to time constraints at the Bass River Tennis Club facility.
