No. 35 Nationally Ranked Babson Tops Women's Tennis, 9-0

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team fell to No. 35 nationally ranked Babson College by a 9-0 score on Wednesday evening at the Farwell Courts.

Babson only dropped three games in doubles as the No. 1 pairing of Tori Paolino (East Orleans, Mass.) and Dina Weick (Woodbridge, Conn.) defeated Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) and Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.) by an 8-1 decision to start the non-conference match between the two squads.

The Beavers also secured an 8-1 win at No. 2 and No. 3 to sweep doubles play.

In singles action, Endicott first year Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) played well despite falling to Yagmur Akgul (Istanbul, Turkey), who claimed conference Rookie of the Year accolades last season, by a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 1.

Classmate Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.) also made a solid debut for the Gulls in her first collegiate match winning two games in the first set but eventually dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to junior Dina Weick (Woodbridge, Conn.).
