BEVERLY, MA -- The Endicott women's tennis team swept doubles play to win its season opener, 7-2, over Plymouth State University Tuesday in Beverly.
Freshman Kate Roundy (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) and senior Blythe Langley (North Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet) won easily, 8-3, at first doubles while junior Carli Conners (Medina, OH/Medina) and her junior partner Bri Cogan (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga) along with sophomore Nicole Leveille (Atkinson, NH/Timberline) and her freshman partner Allison Auer (Bedford, NH/Trinity) rounded out the doubles sweep.
No. 5 singles Sarah Cole (North Waterboro, ME/Massabesic) won 6-2, 7-5 f and Meghan Rodier (Francestown, NH/ConVal) won 6-2, 6-4 at sixth singles for PSU.
No. 1 Roundy (7-5, 7-6), No. 2 Langley (7-5, 6-2), No. 3 Conners (6-2, 6-3) and No. 4 Cogan (6-2, 6-0) also won at singles.
