BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team will open up the 2021 season on the road on Wednesday as the Gulls travel to NEWMAC foe Clark for a 7:30 PM start. Here's a preview of the upcoming season.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- In the last meeting between these two programs, Endicott edged out Clark 2-1 in overtime on Sept. 14, 2019. Now graduate student Jaymie Caponigro (Swampscott, Mass.) scored the first goal for the Gulls in the 2019 meeting. Endicott holds the 1-0-1 advantage in the brief series that dates back to 2018.
- Head Coach Jodi Kenyon enters her 17th year at the helm of the program. During her tenure, the women have won at a .695 clip overall after posting a record of 207-82-31, while they have dominated Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) competition at an even higher clip, going 126-22-7 for a win percentage of .835. The success has culminated in five CCC Championships for the program during her tenure.
- Caponigro returns as the leading point scorer from two years ago when she posted eight goals and three assists for 19 points, which resulted in All-CCC Second Team and NEWISA DIII All-New England Third Team honors.
- Over the last five seasons, Endicott has won at a .755 clip, going 38-11-4 over that stretch.
- Endicott is 2-2-1 in the last five road openers, dating back to 2010.
