BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 3-0, on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.
Lindsey Papa (Tolland, Conn.) put the Gulls on the scoreboard just 5:41 into the contest when she snuck a bouncer under UNE's goalkeeper inside the left post and the hosts rode that momentum the rest of the way.
From there, Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) made it 2-0 at the 37:03 mark, while Madeline Mucher (Andover, Mass.) sealed the victory with her fourth of the season at 71:02.
Gulls' goalkeeper Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) also made three saves to improve to 4-1-0 on the season (third career shutout).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls are 17-12-1 in the all-time series against UNE.
- Endicott is 6-1-1 at home this season.
- The Nor'easters are now 4-4-0 on the road in 2021.
- Papa and Jewett both recorded their third career goal.
