Women’s Soccer Blanks Wentworth, 1-0

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team shut out Wentworth, 1-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Sweeney Field.

Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) netted the lone goal at the 10:04 mark when she pounced on a rebound generated by Madeline Mucher (Andover, Mass.) for her second career goal.

From there, Endicott's defense shut down the Leopards' attack to register its third shutout of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Jacqueline Ruggiero (Hyde Park, Mass.) stopped three shots in the win (3-2-1). Her first save of the contest came less than a minute (9:30) before Endicott's goal, while the last two occurred at the beginning (46:48) and end (86:21) of the second half, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 23-6-1 in the all-time series versus Wentworth.
  • Endicott extended its winning streak against the Leopards to four straight games (three straight shutouts).
  • Caponigro collected her fourth career assist.
  • Ruggiero recorded her third career shutout.

Endicott (3-2-1, 2-0-0 CCC) hosts Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday, September 29 at 7 PM. Wentworth (1-6-2, 0-2-0 CCC) welcomes Coast Guard to its campus next Wednesday at 6 PM.
