Gulls run conference win streak to nine, best Curry 5-1

Beverly, Mass. – Facing a Curry College women's soccer team that had a 6-2 The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) record coming into today's match, the Endicott Gulls claimed a 5-1 victory over the Colonels. The Blue and Green remained undefeated in TCCC play with a 9-0 mark, 11-3-1 overall. 
Curry dropped to 8-5 (6-3 TCCC) following the loss which was only their second in the past eight games.
Endicott junior forward \#Colleen Pepin\# (Fairhaven, Mass.) scored the first of her two goals at 5:22 by beating Curry keeper Samantha Hardy (Pepperell, Mass.) with a low shot to the inside the right post. Gulls senior midfielder \#Kayla Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) assisted on the play.
In the 15th minute, Colonels midfielder Suzanne Jensen (Framingham, Mass.) nearly tied the score with a left-footed blast, but the shot was saved by Endicott goalie \#Natalie Wyrsch\# (Dover, N.H.). 
A header by Endicott senior \#Victoria Hunt\# (Cumberland, R.I.) was sent to the back of the net off a corner kick from teammate \#Chelsea Garlock\# (Meriden, Conn.) to put the home squad up 2-0 at 26:40. For Hunt, it was her second goal of the season. 
The Gulls would tack on two more goals in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. Pepin netted her second goal of the match in the 31st minute, bringing her team-high total to 12, after Garlock found her teammate in the box for an open shot. At 40:41, Endicott's \#Vanessa Caruccio\# (Winthrop, Mass.) sent a through ball down the right side of the field to \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) who then crossed a center pass to the box for freshman forward \#Heather Moody\# (Dunstable, Mass.). Moody volleyed and scored her first collegiate goal.
In the second half, Endicott scored their final goal of the match as sophomore midfielder \#Christine Silva\# (Stoneham, Mass.) fired a shot from the close right wing that hit the left post but landed inside the goal line to put the Gulls up 5-0. The goal was scored at 56:54.
The Colonels got on the scoreboard in the 59th minute after Curry freshman forward Brittany McLaughlin (Wilmington, Mass.) collected a loose ball in the box and went to the top right shelf for her team-high seventh goal of the season.
Endicott's Wyrsch made just one save in victory while Curry's Hardy made five stops between the posts.
The Blue and Green will return to action on Saturday, October 16 at 1:00 pm for a road TCCC match against Wentworth Institute of Technology. Curry travels to Regis for a TCCC showdown also on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
