November 30, 2010
Kansas City, Kan. – The Endicott women’s soccer team has been named one of 634 NCAA soccer teams to earn a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2009-10 academic year. Teams must achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or higher to qualify. The 2009-10 Gulls boasted a team GPA of 3.27 and were one of three The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) member institutions to garner national recognition.
The award is the third in the last four years for the women’s soccer program, having also achieved the NSCAA’s Team Academic Award in 2007 and 2008.
In addition to success in the classroom, the Gulls were the TCCC regular season and tournament champions after posting a 17-5-1 (12-1 TCCC) record. Endicott made its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance that same season, falling to the eventual national champion Messiah in the second round.
