Maddy Howard (Medfield, Mass.) put the visitors on top in the first half before both sides traded goals in the second. Endicott's late search for an equalizer came up just short.
Roger Williams was first on the board after earning a corner kick in the 37th minute. Alexa Maher (Hopewell, N.J.) played a kick to the center of the box, where the ball skipped off an Endicott defender towards Howard. The sophomore midfielder deposited a right footed volley into the right side of the net as the Endicott defense shifted, putting the visitors on top 1-0.
The Gulls entered the break facing a deficit for just the third time this season.
The Hawks doubled their lead in the 57th minute after Laura Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) managed to get behind the Endicott defense. The junior forward was first to the ball and cut it past a charging \#Natalie Wyrsch\# (Dover, N.H.) for an empty net goal. The goal was the 13th of the season for Pendleton.
Endicott answered just over one minute later. The Gulls applied pressure on the Hawks' box and it paid off as senior midfielder \#Kayla Corbett\# (Danvers, Mass.) intercepted a failed clear attempt and lofted a shot into the top right corner. Corbett's 7th goal of the season cut the lead in half to 2-1.
Both sides had opportunities in the latter stages of the second half. Pendleton unleashed an ambitious effort from 25 yards out that sailed just high in the 66th minute.
With time running out, the Gulls pushed forward in hopes of finding the tying goal. Freshman forward \#Taylor Ocko\# (Danvers, Mass.) saw a right-footed volley in front of the net narrowly miss in the 87th minute. Roger Williams held firm for the final two minutes to pick up a huge conference win.
\#Kelsey McGee\# (Kings Park, N.Y.) was forced to make only two saves in the win. Endicott's Wyrsch also made a pair of saves.
The Gulls outshot the Hawks at a 10-8 clip but only put three on goal. The hosts also held an advantage in corner kicks (6-3).
The two teams have two conference games remaining in the schedule and will look to benefit from hosting both. Roger Williams takes on Eastern Nazarene on Saturday at 12:30 pm. Endicott is slated for a 2:30 matchup with Salve Regina on the same day.
