AMHERST, Mass. — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team earned a third place finish at the UMass 7s Tournament on Saturday.
Endicott opened up pool play with a 12-12 tie against UMass before rattling off victories against Boston College (27-0) and UConn's B Side (24-0) to advance through to the next round.
In the semifinals, the Gulls fell to defending D1 7s national champion Roger Williams, 10-5, in a hard-fought highly contested matchup before losing to UConn's A Side 15-0 in the third place game.
All matches this weekend were played against D1 and D2 programs. The Gulls compete in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Small College Division.
