June 10, 2008

BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College Director of Athletics Brian Wylie is pleased to announce the hiring of Meghan Fitzgerald as the new women's lacrosse coach effective mid-August, 2008. Fitzgerald joins the Endicott staff after serving as the assistant coach at Stonehill College for the past four seasons.

Fitzgerald, who will also serve as an Assistant Director of Admission, helped guide the Skyhawks to four-straight Northeast-10 conference titles and a 2005 NCAA Division II National Championship. The Stonehill coaching staff has accumulated a 69-8 overall record in the past four years including four national postseason appearances.

A 2004 graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Fitzgerald played in three NCAA Tournaments with the Herons advancing to the semifinals in 2003. In the same year, Fitzgerald was awarded a spot on the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team. Her other individual accolades include a 2004 IWLCA All-New York Region selection and a 2004 NYSWCAA All-State honor.

Fitzgerald inherits a nationally respected program as the Gulls have won three-straight The Commonwealth Coast Conference titles and appeared in the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons. Endicott returns four All-Region selections and the TCCC Offensive Player of the Year, while losing just one graduated senior from the 2008 roster.
