Feldman leads Gulls to victory over NEC

HENNIKER, N.H. - Endicott's Valerie Feldman (Albany, N.Y.) finished with seven goals and four assists to lead the Gulls past the New England College Pilgrims 19-13 Tuesday afternoon in Henniker.

Endicott started the scoring early opening the game on a 4-0 run, including three straight goals from Feldman. The two teams exchanged goals before NEC scored three goals in under a minute cutting Endicott's lead to 5-4 at the 20:07 mark. The two teams continued to battle through the remainder of the first half as the Pilgrims tied the game four times but it was Feldman who netted a goal with 31 seconds remaining in the half sending the Gulls into halftime with the 10-9 advantage.

The Pilgrims tied the game early in the second half with two goals by Jodie Dresser (Keene, N.H.) but Endicott scored the next six goals, building a 17-11 lead with 11:10 remaining in regulation. NEC tried to battle back scoring two quick goals but Endicott held the Pilgrims scoreless in the final 10 minutes and tacked on two late goals to capture the 19-13 victory.

In addition to Feldman, Endicott College was led by Kellie Cunningham (Derry, N.H.) who chipped in three goals and dished out three assists. Endicott's Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, Maine) and Kristen Micho (Syracuse, N.Y.) each scored two goals and had two assist for the Gulls.

Leading the way for New England College was Jodie Dresser who finished with four goals. NEC's Casey McFarland (Webster, N.H.) chipped in three goals and Lauren Bickford (Lebanon, Maine) finished with two goals and an assist.

Picking up the win in goal for Endicott was Molly Hamel (North Yarmouth, Maine) who finished with 13 saves. In goal for NEC was Alexandra DiRico who finished with 14 saves.

The win improves the Gulls to 10-5 on the season and keeps them undefeated in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with a record of 8-0. The loss drops the Pilgrims to 3-10 overall and 3-4 in the TCCC. Endicott will return to action on Thursday when they battle Salve Regina University at Endicott Stadium in Beverly, Mass. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
