Endicott cruises past Nichols in 16-0 shutout

DUDLEY, Mass. - The Endicott College women's lacrosse team earned a 16-0 shutout victory over Nichols in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Wednesday night at Vendetti Field. A total of 12 players scored for the Gulls, including four with two goals.

Endicott scored six goals in the opening 10 minutes of the game, including a pair by junior Alex Pearce (Underhill, Vt./Kimball Union Academy). The Gulls went on to score five more goals to head into halftime with an 11-0 lead. They out-shot the Bison 20-2 in the half.

The Gulls added five more goals in the second half despite just an 11-10 edge on shots. In net, sophomore MaryKate Bednarz (Springfield, Mass./Cathedral) recorded 11 saves.

Freshman Kellie Cunningham (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton), junior Kate Colley (Wells, Maine/Wells) and sophomore Kristen Micho (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) joined Pearce with two goals each on the night.

With the win the Gulls improve to 5-3 overall, and 2-0 in the TCCC. Nichols drops to 2-3 on the season with a 1-3 record in the TCCC. Endicott will return to action on Saturday when they battle Gordon College at Endicott Stadium in Beverly, Mass. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
