Crough and White Named to CCC All-Conference Teams

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Endicott forwards Samantha Crough (Cohasset, Mass.) and Jennifer White (Lisbon, N.H.) have been named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference teams, which were announced Tuesday morning by the conference office and commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Crough was selected to the All-CCC Second Team, while White earned Honorable Mention status. The two Gulls, both in their junior year, are making their second appearances in the All-Conference teams, with each selected in the same slot as a season ago.

Crough is averaging nearly 12 points a game to lead the Gulls and is shooting 39.4% from the field. Her work in the conference, where she averages 12.4 points and is shooting 41%, both 11th in the CCC, has been even more impressive.  She is also averaging 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game, and her 37 blocks puts her 4th overall in the CCC. Crough is finding her scoring touch lately, scoring in double-digits in seven straight games and averaging 14 points per game in that stretch.

White has posted three double-doubles this season and has been in double-digits scoring 16 times, including a career-high 25-point effort against Roger Williams early in the year. White is a prolific shooter, ranking fourth in the conference in three-point percentage (34.2) and second in the CCC in free-throw percentage, shooting just under 80%. White is averaging over 11 points and nearly 7 rebounds per game and has also dished out 50 assists and collected 18 blocks.

Both players have started in all 25 games the Gulls have played this year, leading Endicott to a 15-10 record and a #5 seed in the CCC Tournament. The pair will be on the court in Springfield this evening as the Gulls battle #4 Western New England in the CCC Quarterfinals at 7:00 pm.

All ten institutions from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2012-13 All-CCC Women's Basketball Team. In addition to the all-conference team, University of New England senior Beth Suggs was named CCC Player of the Year and Salve Regina University senior Kaitlyn Birrell was selected CCC Defensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Salve Regina freshman Meaghan Harden was named CCC Rookie of the Year, Roger Williams University's Elizabeth Kilzi was honored as CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, University of New England's Anthony Ewing was named CCC Coach of the Year and Gordon College received the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC women's basketball coaches.
