White Named Capital One COSIDA Academic All-District First Team

BEVERLY, Mass. – Junior guard Jennifer White (Lisbon, N.H.) became the second Endicott women's basketball player to be named to the Capital One Academic All District First Team, which was released on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA).

White will now move on to be considered for a stop on the Academic All-America team, which will be released on February 19th.

A physical education major obtaining her teacher's license at Endicott and also pursuing a minor in business administration, White has posted a 3.69 grade point average. She has worked towards her degree with internships in physical education at both the Lisbon and Littleton Regional Schools, where she has organized and taught classes at the middle and high school levels.

White has also interned in the marketing and development department at New England Electric Wire Company and worked as a counselor for Lisbon Recreations programs. Her community service efforts include work with the Boys and Girls Club, Special Olympics, Jimmy Fund Walk and the Gloucester Food Pantry.

On the court, White has started all 19 games for the Gulls and is averaging 10.8 points on a team-high 31% shooting, as well as 6.7 rebounds in 31.5 minutes per game. She is shooting 32.2% from three-point range and her 79.1% shooting mark from the free throw line is good for fourth in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). White has also racked up 31 assists, 13 blocks and 22 steals this season.

In 2012, White was named an Honorable Mention to the All-CCC team, as well as a member of the CCC Academic All-Conference team.

White joins Ashley Wright (2010) as the only members of the Endicott women's basketball program to have earned COSIDA Academic All-District nods.

Endicott was the only member of the CCC represented on the Academic All-District teams. Other selections represented three NESCAC schools (Middlebury, Tufts and Amherst) and three NEWMAC schools (MIT, Wheaton, and WPI), in addition to Norwich University.

The awards are nominated and voted on by members of COSIDA. Candidates must have at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher, have reached their sophomore year of school, and be contributing starters or reserves on the varsity team.
