SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Endicott College senior Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.) was honored as both The Commonwealth Coast Conference and ECAC Player of the Week in women's basketball as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday and the ECAC offices on Tuesday. Duchesne helped lead the Gulls to a perfect 4-0 record this week including capturing the Maine Maritime Mariner Classic title during this past weekend.
Duchesne averaged 20 points per game on very solid shooting, hitting 52 % from the field (25-for-48), including 39% from downtown (5-for-13), and 81% from the line (25-for-31). She also averaged 3.3 steals, three rebounds and 2.3 assists over the four game stretch. Duchesne broke the 20 point mark three times, with 20 points in a 71-52 win over Bridgewater State, 22 points in a 89-62 victory against Saint Joseph's (Maine), and closing out the week with 23 points in a 72-60 win over tournament host Maine Maritime.
The Gulls have finished up the first semester of play and enter their winter break at 6-3 overall. Endicott returns to the hardwood on January 5th when they host UMass-Dartmouth in a non-conference matchup scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
