Men’s Volleyball Downs D’Youville In Season Opener, 3-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Endicott men's volleyball team opened up its 2018 season with a dominant 3-0 victory over D'Youville by scores of 25-12, 25-7, and 25-20 on the campus of St. John Fisher College.

Troy Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.) led the Gulls with eight kills on 14 swings, alongside six service aces, and five digs. Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) and Donovan Dey (Fairport, N.Y.) also added five kills each, while Chad Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.) facilitated the offense with 13 assists.

Defensively, Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.) compiled eight digs and went a perfect 14-for-14 on serve-receive to highlight the rest of the night for Endicott.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls picked up their second career victory against D'Youville (2-5 all-time).
  • Endicott notched its first season opening victory since 2015 (3-0 win over Brooklyn). 
  • The previous two seasons Endicott began the year with No. 10 Kean (L, 3-0, 2017) and No. 1 Springfield (L, 3-0, 2016).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (1-0) takes on Wilkes at 12 PM and St. John Fisher at 2 PM to close out its opening weekend in Rochester, New York.
