Men’s Tennis Tops Salem State, 7-2

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team posted a 7-2 victory over Salem State University on Friday evening at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

Endicott took two out of three doubles matches as the No. 1 pairing of Sam Pham (Boston, Mass.) / Cooper Walters (Madeira Beach, Fla.) and the No. 3 pairing of Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.) / Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) earned victories by scores of 8-4 and 8-3, respectively.

Meanwhile, in singles play, Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) gave the Gulls a 3-1 advantage with a straight-sets win at No. 5 before Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) and Pham registered victories at the No. 2 (6-1, 6-3) and No. 1 positions (6-4, 6-2) to clinch the match.

Endicott also saw Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) come away with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) triumph at No. 3 and Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass.) notch a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 6.

"Today's victory was a good way to end the fall season," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "I'm excited for what this group can achieve in the spring when we get into the full swing of our schedule."

Endicott (2-1) returns to action on Saturday, March 2 at the Bass River Tennis Club against Bentley. Salem State (0-1) hosts Mass Boston on Saturday, March 23 at 1 PM.
