Roger Williams wins ninth straight, down Gulls

BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University men's tennis team continues to roll in The Commonwealth Coast Conference after a 7-2 win over Endicott College on Monday afternoon, keeping the Hawks undefeated in the conference. The Hawks improve to 12-6 (7-0 TCCC), while Endicott falls to 8-5 and 5-2 in conference action.

The Hawks took five of the six singles matches from the Gulls, including TCCC Player of the Week a 6-0, 6-1 win by Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) in \#5 singles over Scott Teller (Granville, N.Y.). Also winning for the Hawks was David Lange (Great Neck, N.Y.), who defeated Mike D'Ambra (Barrington, R.I.) by a 6-2, 6-2 score in the fourth flight.

In doubles play, Brad Bolte (Augusta, N.J.) and Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) defeated D'Ambra and Dan Murray (Coventry, R.I.) 8-0 in \#2 doubles, while Jeffrey Agonia (Lincoln, R.I.) and Ryan Kim (Port Washington, N.Y.) won 8-3 in \#3 doubles over Locke and Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, Mass.)

Devon Locke had one of Endicott's two wins on the day, winning his \#3 singles match 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 over Jeff DeNunzio (Barrington, R.I.). Teller and Josh Schoen (Phoenix, Ariz.) had the other win for the Gulls, a 8-5 victory over Kleitz and DeNunzio in \#1 doubles.

Roger Williams will be at Eastern Nazarene College Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., while Endicott hosts Colby-Sawyer College tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
