BOSTON, MA - Endicott was looking for its first Commonwalth Coast Conference victory Saturday at Wentworth Institute of Technology, but the Leopards had other ideas. After splitting singles play, Wentworth won two of three at doubles to defeat the upstart Gulls, 5-4.
Endicott (3-5, 0-2 CCC) got singles victories from No. 2 Scott Teller (Granville, NY/Granville), 4-6, 7-6, 6-4; No. 4 Mark Maloney (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam), 6-7, 6-1, 6-2; and No. 5 David Micka (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown), 6-4, 6-2.
Teller and Micka also teamed up at second doubles for an 8-5 win. Gabriel Moraga (Marlboro, CT/Marlboro) lost a tough three-set match at third singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Endicott will look to get back on track Monday (3:30 PM) when it takes on Southern Maine.
