HILTON HEAD, SC - Endicott men's tennis lost its season opener down at Hilton Head, South Carolina to Knox College, 4-3, Saturday night.
Josh Schoen (Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia) won at first singles (7-5, 7-5), Scott Teller (Granville, NY/Granville) was victorious at second singles (6-3, 6-3); No. 3 singles Gabriel Moraga (Marlboro, CT/Hebron) won (1-6, 6-1, 6-2); and first doubles pair Schoen and Moraga, who won 8-6.
Playing strong in defeat for the Gulls were No. 4 singles David Micka (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown) (2-6, 1-6); No. 5 singles Parker Olen (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) (5-7, 3-6); No. 6 singles Mark Maloney (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam) (3-6, 2-6); second doubles Teller and Micka (3-8); and third doubles Olen and Nate Buell (Westfield, MA/Westfield) (3-8).
