USILA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA LIST | ACADEMIC TEAM AWARD LIST

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's lacrosse student-athletes Sam DesMarais (York, Maine) and Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) have earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America honors, as announced by the organization. In addition to those accolades, the Endicott men's lacrosse program has also claimed USILA Academic Team laurels.

Criteria to receive USILA Scholar All-America Honors:

  • A student-athlete must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
  • He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field
  • He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player

The USILA Scholar All-America Program was established in 1989 to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically, and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II, and III.

DesMarais and Fournier are the 13th and 14th USILA Scholar All-Americans in program history, respectively.

DesMarais recently earned his Bachelor of Science in business management degree alongside a 3.43 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Meanwhile, Fournier received his Bachelor of Science in sport management degree, with a minor in economics, in 2020 and most recently completed his Master of Business Administration to the tune of a 3.83 GPA.

Both student-athletes were also named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference and New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Teams as well as the Dean's List this year.

As for the men's lacrosse program, the Gulls were one of 53 NCAA Division III teams to claim USILA Academic Team honors for having a team GPA of 3.0 or above.

Academically, this spring, the men's lacrosse program had 15 student-athletes named to the Dean's List, 15 to the CCC Academic All-Conference team, and 10 more to the NEILA All-Academic squad.
