BEVERLY, MA - Senior attackman Josh Gilbert (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) and senior defender Patrick Gaffney (Worcester, MA/St. John's) each capped off stellar careers by being named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's All-American team this past weekend.
Gilbert, the Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, scored 55 goals and handed out 17 assists for a team-high 72 points in 2007. Josh led the potent Gulls offense as the Blue and Green averaged 14.4 goals per game, the fourth-best average in the nation.
Patrick Gaffney's All-American selection comes as no surprise as the senior defender backstopped an Endicott defense that only allowed 6.3 goals against per game (No. 10 in the nation). Gaffney was the 2007 CCC Defensive Player of the Year and was a four-time First Team All-CCC honoree in his four year career with the Gulls.
