BEVERLY, MA - Endicott's Josh Gilbert (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week for the second consecutive week as he led the Gulls to two conference wins and the top-seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament beginning this afternoon.
Gilbert, who was named the CCC and ECAC Offensive Player of the Week last week, put together a strong performance in the final two games of the regular season as he found the back of the net 11 times. Josh closed out his final regular season game with eight goals in a 26-12 win over Salve Regina University, securing the top playoff spot for the Blue and Green.
Endicott, currently ranked 15th in the nation, has earned a CCC Tournament first round bye as the Gulls posted their 5th straight undefeated regular season. The Blue and Green have now won 40 straight CCC regular season games. The Gulls will return to the turf on Thursday afternoon as they will play host to the winner of the No. 5 Wentworth Institute of Technology vs. No. 4 Salve Regina University game taking place Tuesday afternoon in Newport, RI. The CCC semifinals on Thursday are tentatively scheduled for a 4:00 PM start in Beverly, MA.
