BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's basketball freshman forward Elijah Kinney (Nashville, Tenn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The first-year forward compiled 30 points and 15 rebounds while shooting 61.9% (13-21) from the field in a crucial 2-0 conference week for the Gulls.
His averages came out to 15 points and 7.5 rebounds per game over the two-game span.
In Wednesday's 81-78 road victory at Curry, he scored 16 points (7-11 FG) including the go-ahead-bucket at the 1:44 mark of the second half, bruising his way inside for the timely layup. He also hauled down a team-leading eight rebounds in just 19 minutes of action.
In Saturday's regular-season finale against crosstown rival Gordon, the big man recorded 14 points (6-10 FG), seven rebounds, and two steals for the Blue and Green en route to a 92-82 home victory.
This marks Kinney's fifth CCC Rookie of the Week award this season (11/13/23, 12/4/23, 1/2/24, 2/12/24).
