Men’s Basketball Outlasts Roger Williams, 114-109 (2OT); Keith Brown Scores Program Record 53 Points

BEVERLY, Mass. – Behind a program record 53 points from Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.), the Endicott men's basketball team edged Roger Williams, 114-109, in double overtime on Saturday evening at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Brown shot 18-for-34 from the floor, 4-of-14 from beyond the arc, and 13-of-17 at the free throw line to break Kamahl Walker's '17 (Worcester, Mass.) previous record of 47 points, which he set on November 15, 2015 against Keene State.

Based upon available data, Brown's 53-point effort is the most ever in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). His 53 points also rank as the third highest single-game total among all NCAA Divisions this season.

Tied 93-93 headed into the second overtime, Brown took over when it mattered most as the sophomore sharpshooter scored 16 of his 53 points in just five minutes of action. Nine of those points were also the answer to a 98-97 deficit with 4:00 to play as Brown canned a three-ball at 3:45, converted an and-one play at 2:29, and swished another trey at the 1:40 mark to give Endicott a 109-100 lead.

Roger Williams fought back with a 7-0 run to make it a one-possession contest with 30-seconds remaining (109-107), however, Brown and Rob O'Brien (Rindge, N.H.) sank five out of six free throws, respectively, to clinch the victory.
