BEVERLY, Mass. Coming off a 2015 season that saw the Gulls earn the program's second straight appearance and fourth in the past five seasons in reaching the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title game, Endicott will look to keep up the pace in 2016 under 10th-year head coach Jodi Cipolla. Here's a preview of the upcoming season, which begins this Thursday, September 1 on the road at Wheaton at 7:00 p.m.

RETURNING CAST (ROSTER):  Leading the squad in 2016 will be 2015 reigning CCC Co-Rookie of the Year in sophomore forward Sophia Cogliano (Saugus, Mass.). Cogliano landed on the All-CCC Second Team after turning in a solid rookie performance in which she led the team in points (28), goals (13) and shots (91). All-CCC First Team junior defender Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.) earned a 2015 NFHCA All-New England East Second Team nod and is back to anchor the defense. Wood tied for the team lead in defensive saves (4) a season ago and was fourth in points (16) and third in goals (7). The team is captained by senior defender Emily Paladino (North Reading, Mass.), senior goalkeeper Cheka Ventura (Lawrence, Mass.), junior defender Courtney Brown (Byfield, Mass.), and Wood.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): The Gulls open with three straight road contests against NEWMAC opponents and will use another difficult non-conference schedule to ready themselves for conference play to make a run at the program's third CCC title. After their season opener at Wheaton, the Gulls are away at Babson (September 10) and at MIT (September 13) before the CCC slate begins on North Field versus Nichols on Thursday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. Homecoming against Gordon is slated for a 12:00 p.m. start on Saturday, September 24 and the Gulls will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. as Salem St. rolls in for Senior Day. PRESEASON PLAUDITS (POLL): Endicott was picked to finish second after receiving 42 points, including one first place vote.

2015 YEAR IN REVIEW: The Gulls finished their 2015 season as runner-up in the CCC Field Hockey Championship with an 11-10 record overall and 8-4 mark in conference play.
