Nine different Gulls score to take down AMCATS

PAXTON, Mass. - The Endicott College Gulls were able to shut out the Anna Maria AMCATS 9-0 on Saturday in Paxton, Mass. The win moves Endicott to 5-1 (1-0 TCCC) while Anna Maria dropped to 0-4 (0-1 TCCC) on the season. Nine different Gulls were able to score a goal as Joanne Reid (Clarksville, Md.) scored a goal and had two assists in the game.

Sophomore Lindsey Mills (Arlington, Mass.) got the ball rolling for the Gulls as she touched the back of the net only four minutes into the game off an assist from freshman Alexandra Parese (Wilton, Conn.). The Gulls would go onto score seven more goals in the half off shots from Parese, Megan McBride (Saugus, Mass.), Anna Giannoni (Granby, Conn.), Joanne Reid, Samantha Bourgeois (Gardner, Mass.), Francesca Cacace (Pembroke, Bermuda), and Meagan Hillengas (Albany, N.Y.).

The final goal of the match came in the second half as sophomore Delia McDermott (Shaker Heights, OH) was able to score the ninth goal off a pass from fellow sophomore Allison Forgues (Auburn, Maine).

Senior goalkeeper Chelsea DeFeo (York, Maine) was able to team up with fellow senior net-minder Aisling Mullen (Beverly, Mass.) to get the shutout. DeFeo did not face a shot in the first half while Mullen was able to make five saves in her first action of the season. Anna Maria goalie Alyssa Boykin (Worcester, Mass.) was able to make 20 saves despite allowing in the nine goals.

The Blue and Green return to the field on Thursday when Bridgewater State College comes to Beverly for a 6:00 p.m. game. The AMCATS will continue to look for their first win of the season when they travel to Standish, Maine to take on St. Joseph's on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
