Box Score

FARMINGTON, Maine - The Endicott College Gulls (4-1) were able to beat the Maine-Farmington Beavers (0-3) 2-0 in non-conference action on Wednesday. The victory was senior Chelsea DeFeo's (York, Maine) third shutout of the season as she was able to thwart six shots in the winning effort.

The Gulls were able to put up two goals in the first half of the match. Sophomore Cara Hanrahan (Franklin, Tenn.) was able to tally her first goal of the season off of the stick of senior Michelle Berard (Ashland, Mass.) at the 22:49 mark in the first half. Nine minutes later, at 31:51, another sophomore Caitlin Keating (York, Maine) touched the back of the net with her first goal of the season on an unassisted goal.

Those two goals would be all DeFeo would need as she was able to go the distance in securing the shutout and the win for the Gulls. Senior Andrea Tyler (Augusta, Maine) did not make it easy on DeFeo as she was able to get three shots on goal. DeFeo's counterpart, senior Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, N.H.) had nine saves while freshman Samantha Webster (Dixfield, Maine) was able to make a defensive save in the second half to keep the game close.

The Blue and Green return to action Saturday when they start TCCC action by boarding the bus and traveling to Paxton, Mass. to take on Anna Maria at 12:00 p.m. Maine-Farmington looks for its first win of the season as it hosts Southern Maine next Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
