EC Records 4-0 Shutout Against American International

Sept. 11, 2003

Beverly, MA - For the fourth time in as many games, the Endicott College Gulls took control early in the first half and never let up. Having out-shot and out-possessed every team they have faced this season, the Gulls were finally able to post a score that truly reflects their dominance.

Junior KD Balentine (York, ME) fed an assist into the circle for junior captain Jen McCormack (Milton, MA) with 7:27 showing on the clock in the first half. Time ran out with the score at 1-0.

EC came into the second half ready to score, and again McCormack found the back of the cage for a goal, scoring unassisted at 23:18. EC controlled possession of the ball with defenders Ali Beaulieu (Augusta, ME) and Jen Carney (Wenham, MA) keeping it out of AIC's offensive end. In EC's midfield, sophomore Ashley Wallace (Hudson, NY) and junior Melissa Durrant (Pembroke, Bermuda) controlled transition play for the Gulls.

Jen McCormack scored her third goal of the contest with 9:40 on the clock off of a perfect feed from sophomore forward Ashley Dodge (Athol, MA).

The Gulls final goal of the match was scored by KD Balentine, assisted by freshman Caitlin Murray (Templeton, MA) with 4:53 remaining.

The AIC Yellow Jackets were awarded a penalty corner as time ran out, but EC was able to keep them from scoring to maintain a shutout.

Freshman goalkeeper Erin Curry (East Hampstead, NH) played all 70:00 minutes for the Gulls, recording 6 saves and her first collegiate shut-out.
