Equestrian Places Third At Regionals; Channell & Toupin Advance To Zones

AMHERST, Mass. — The Endicott equestrian team placed third overall out of 11 programs at Regionals (Zone 1, Region 4) on Saturday evening at the Holly Hill Show Stable.

Sophia Channell (Vergennes, Vt.), Emily Toupin (Oakham, Mass.), and Helen Barrow (Swanton, Vt.) headlined the Gulls' efforts.

Channell (second: int. o/f, limit flat) and Toupin (second: novice) advanced to Zones next week and will represent the program in each entry they placed in today.

Meanwhile, Barrow earned the Cacchione Award for third high point rider in the region (third in open flat out of 11).

The Cacchione Award recognizes the top open riders in the region. Placements are decided by riders who have scored the most points during the season with the top rider earning a spot at nationals. The open division is the highest competitive division.
