Equestrian Posts Third Place Finish At Babson/Bridgewater State Show

NORTON, Mass. — The Endicott equestrian team ranked third overall out of 11 programs at the Babson/Bridgewater State Show on Sunday at ABD Equestrian.

Helen Barrow (Swanton, Vt.) and Tara Donovan (Holden, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls with first place rides in open over fences and walk trot, respectively.

TOP QUOTE

"Our riders put in wonderful performances this weekend! The first show back in the spring season is always tough because it's still freezing cold, and both the horses and riders have been out of practice after our winter break from showing," said Endicott equestrian head coach Megan Martin. "I was impressed by our teams' consistency and strong rides throughout the day! We now have five riders qualified for regionals, with the possibility of adding two more at our next show in two weeks."

OTHER SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Barrow also placed second in open flat.
  • Sophia Channell (Vergennes, Vt.) ranked third in intermediate flat.
  • Emily Bocklet (Cross River, N.Y.) was fourth in intermediate fences.
  • In limit flat, Sydney Putnam (Ghent, N.Y.) placed second, while Lucia Taylor (Lyme, N.H.) was fifth.
  • Faith Proof (Westfield, Vt.) and Emily Bianco (Barrington, R.I.) both ranked fifth in novice.
  • In limit over fences, Kaili Gore (Fleetwood, Pa.) finished sixth, while Isabelle Wulff (New London, N.H.) and Irina Canute (Sudbury, Mass.) had reserve showings (seventh place, does not score points towards team score in top-6 pinning format).
