In the penultimate race of the 2012 New England Collegiate Rowing League (NECRL) regular season, crew defeated Brandeis in the men's and women's varsity and novice fours.
In the 3 weeks since the last NECRL race, the team has been working hard to improve technique and fitness. The undefeated women's varsity 4+ (c: Kaitlyn Walker, 4: Joy Harriman, 3: Emily Heat, 2: Andrea Ford, 1: Courtney Russell) got Endicott off to a good start with a 42 second victory.
Not to be out done, the varsity men's 4+ (c: Mike Fortin, 4: Nate Simeon, 3: Clayton Morrissey, 2: Charles Nastasi, 1: Alston Adkins) has a 15 second margin of victory.
In the women's novice 4+, Endicott sent out two boats. The 'A' crew (c: Maria Battista, 4: Anne Ahrens, 3: Rachel Mueller, 2: Marina Phillips, 1: Kathryn A'Hearn) ran away with a 2:33 win, while Endicott's 'B' boat (c: Mariah Scanlon, 4; Kate O'Donnell, 3: Steph Yepez, 2: Jenn Lawson, 1: Hollie Tavares) showed drastic improvements by finishing second 1:07 ahead of the Judges.
Rounding out the day, after a restart, the men's novice crew (c: Jim Dooley, 4: Dan Richards, 3: Ian Kaeding, 2: Scott Moore, 1: Kevin Duffy) downed the 'Deis by 15 seconds to compete the sweep.
The strong showing put the Gulls into first or second in the league in each event, giving all the 'A' crews a guaranteed spot in the finals at next weekends NECRL Championships. Full results and NECRL regular season standings are below:
