Crew wins at Clark

Crew wins at Clark
On a day of ups and downs, the men's and women's varsity boats proved victorious versus a tough Clark team.

With Clark's Men's Varsity crew sitting out the race, the Endicott Men's Varsity Four (c: Michael Fortin, 4: Nate Simeon, 3: Clayton Morrissey, 2: Charles Nastasi, 1: Alston Adkins) downed Clark's Junior Varsity crew by 31 seconds and Endicott's Men's Novice Four finished third.

The Gull's Women' Varsity Four (c: Kaitlyn Walker, 4: Joy Harriman, 3: Emily Heath, 2: Courtney Russell, 1: Andrea Ford) lead wire-to-wire in the closest race of the day, besting the defending New England Rowing Championship bronze medalists by 6 seconds and league rival Assumption by 1:37.

In earlier races, Clark's Women's JV Four pulled away from the Endicott Women's JV Four.  Despite equipment issues, the Women's First Novice Four gritted their way across the line in fourth, earning admiration from several coaches and spectators, while the Women's Second Novice Four finished third.

Next week the Gulls travel to New Bedford to take on Brandeis University in the New England Collegiate Rowing League's regular season finale.
