Women's Volleyball Stifles Nichols In 3-1 Victory

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Nichols, 3-1, by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, and 25-21 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Thursday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) stuffed the box score as she recorded her sixth double-digit kill match of the season with a match-high 15 kills (.278), 24 receptions (24-of-25, .960), seven digs, one block solo, and two block assists.

Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) contributed a career-high 11 kills (.526), while Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) ran the offense with 26 assists.

Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) and Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.), each had eight kills and both went for four and five block assists apiece. 

Tonight's match featured 19 tied scores (8 - 1, 6 - 2, 3 - 3, 2 - 4) and 10 lead changes (5 - 1, 4 - 2, 0 - 3, 1 - 4).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott improved to 8-0 versus Nichols.
  • Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) recorded a match-high 21 digs (7 led to kills, .333), while having five assists and tying Murphy with a match-high three service aces.
  • The Gulls tied a season-high in total blocks with 11 (2 solo, 18 assists).
  • Freshman Emma Gulaskey (Miami Shores, Fla.) made her collegiate debut recording three digs in the match.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (8-8, 3-0 CCC) hosts Williams on Saturday, October 14 at 1 PM. Nichols (11-5, 0-3 CCC) travels to Wentworth on Saturday for an 11 AM matchup.
