Women’s Volleyball Handles Gordon, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Gordon, 3-1, by scores of 25-19, 29-27, 22-25, and 25-20 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) filled the stat sheet with a match-high 17 kills (.342), 24 receptions (24-of-27, .889), eight digs, and two block assists.

Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) contributed 15 kills (.448), while Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) orchestrated the offense with a match-high 39 assists (.481).

Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) and Cambell also chipped in with seven (.500) and six (.500) putaways, respectively.

Tonight's match featured 31 tied scores (8 – 1, 10 – 2, 7 – 3, 6 – 4) and 15 lead changes (4 – 1, 4 – 2, 4 – 3, 3 – 4).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott improved to 23-16 all-time against Gordon.
  • Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) finished tonight's contest with a match-high-tying 14 digs (6 led to kills, .429) and a 17-for-18 showing on serve-receive (8 correlated in kills, .444).
  • Lexi Tecun (Hawthorne, Calif.) logged five digs (4 turned into kills) and was a perfect 19-for-19 on serve-receive (7 led to kills).
  • The Gulls hit a season-best .326 for a four-set match this season (57K-15E-129TA).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-8, 2-0 CCC) visits Roger Williams on Friday, October 6 at 6 PM. Gordon (9-6, 1-1 CCC) travels to Hartford tomorrow for a 7 PM matchup.
