WORCESTER, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated WPI, 3-1, by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-12, and 25-15 on Friday night inside Harrington Auditorium.
Julia Giroux (Bedford, N.H.) and Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) tied for the team-high in kills with 10 apiece.
Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) chipped in with nine putaways on 22 swings (.364), while Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) ran the offense behind a match-high 42 assists.
As a team, the Gulls had four student-athletes register 10 or more digs — highlighted by Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) who notched a career-high 26 on the night.
Her previous career-high was 24 (10/8/22, W, Brandeis, 3-1).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Giroux also added 15 digs to her stat line to produce her first career double-double in a Gulls uniform.
- Endicott is 5-0 all-time against WPI dating back to 2013 (three of the five matches have been sweeps).
- The Gulls won their fourth straight season opener.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (1-0) visits Simmons on Tuesday, September 5 at 7 PM. WPI (0-1) takes on Wentworth (11 AM) and Elms (1 PM) tomorrow in Boston.
