BEVERLY, MA - The second-seeded Endicott College women's volleyball team began its Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament title defense Wednesday by taking three straight from the University of New England for 3-0 victory at the MacDonald Gymnasium on the campus of Endicott College.
The Gulls (22-14) downed the No. 7 Nor'Easters 30-15, 30-15 and 30-10 to earn a semifinal date at home versus Roger Williams (No. 3) Thursday (7).
Freshman Kaylee Krom (Strasburg, CO/Strasburg) guided Endicott to victory with 13 kills, one ace and six digs. Fellow freshman Hayley Janelle (Madbury, NH/Oyster River) added nine kills to go along with a dig and a block, while sophomore setter Meghan Hall (Santa Cruz, CA/Aptos) handed out 35 assists and had three aces.
Senior Killeen Ross (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) chipped in seven kills, three aces and seven digs for Endicott, which went 8-1 in CCC conference play losing only to No. 1 Colby-Sawyer.
